Sleepy in Seattle

We slept in just a little while before heading out toward Seattle. Fortunately, it was not a long drive today, so we had plenty of time to enjoy the sights of Seattle.

I ran into some difficulty with my camera early on, but eventually got that fixed. We ran into some traffic which put us a little later getting to Seattle, but we arrived at Pioneer Park around 1:00.

Our first activity of the day was the Underground Tour, which gave us a great overview of the history of Seattle, which included lumber, sewage, the origin of the term "Skid Row", a huge fire, rebuilding the city, skylights in the sidewalk and the oldest profession - "seamstress".

After the the tour we walked to Pike Place Market. Lunch and a visit to one of the many bakeries took up most of the afternoon.

We also found the original Starbucks.

Our final destination in Seattle was the Space Needle. Unfortunately we were too late to get tickets and so moved on to the hotel for the evening.

Today was rather routine! Tomorrow? We are off to Canada!

Miles:180
